As part of the celebration of Colombian Independence during the month of July, ICCMN is bringing for the first time to Minnesota the Colombian band Los Rolling Ruanas during their US tour "Sangre Caliente". The local band Alma Andina will close this amazing musical night with the release of their new album.

Los Rolling Ruanas:
Rock ‘n’ roll was born out of sheer boldness. Blending blues and country music together—both rural genres—was one of the most revolutionary acts in history and it gave birth to one of the most amazing and wild music genres. Hailing from Bogota, Colombia—a place that oozes music creativity—Los Rolling Ruanas came to destroy preconceptions and, loyal to their legacy, put rural back in rock ‘n’ roll. Yeah, rural! Their sound is a tribute to Colombian Andean peasants, their culture and their music: carranga. Los Rolling Ruanas took the typical acoustic instruments and made them rock harder than ever. What could be more rock ‘n’ roll than redefining rock ‘n’ roll, huh?

Alma Andina:
Minneapolis/St. Paul-based band Alma Andina combines traditional instruments from South America such as the pan flutes, charango, and bombo, among others to perform in an array of Latin styles such as Cumbia, Salsa, Guajira, Reggaeton, Reggae, and more. This "Electro Andean Party" brings a mix of musical flavors and rhythms, inviting the community to dance, party, meet new people and cultures, and ultimately, to feel free and unified.
